01.04.2005 About meeting of the Leadership of the EC RATS SCO with the representatives of the Department of the National Security of Japan
On April 1, 2005, under the request of Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Uzbekistan and with the assistance of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a meeting of the Director of EC RATS SCO, Kasymov V.T., with the representatives of the Department of the National Security of Japan, Hadzime Idzumi and Mysaki Inowe, took place in Tashkent.
During a meeting the exchange of opinions on a current situation in Central-Asian Region and in the space of the SCO was made.
As information with propaganda features, the Director of the EC RATS SCO, Kasymov V.T., told the participants of a meeting about actual tasks of the EC RATS SCO assigned by the Charter of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization dated from June 7, 2002; by the Shanghai Convention on the struggle against terrorism, separatism and extremism dated from June 15, 2001; Agreements between the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization «About the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure» dated from June 7, 2002, and a course of the current activity in the sphere of the struggle against terrorism, separatism and extremism and the other type of dangerous crimes.
It was noted that terrorism had transnational character and still posed serious threat to peaceful life and all people, and that in the current situation strengthening cooperation in the struggle against terrorism, separatism and extremism coincided with the interest of people of the SCO member states.
Also, the issues related to undertaken measures upon counteracting the radical Islamic movements («Hizb-ut-Tahrir», IMU and etc.), a place and a role of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as a host country for the RATS’ disposition, in the SCO, development of cooperation with the SCO member states in the issues of the struggle against terrorism, separatism and extremism were discussed.
